Richard Glaesser’s Fairytale German King

In 1932, Richard Glaesser became an independent distributor in the town of Seiffen, Germany, selling semi-luxury goods like coffee, tea, cocoa, tobacco, and alcohol. Two years later, his company began selling locally made wooden products like figurines, boxes, and buttons. Richard Glaesser quickly made a name for himself with his company’s products standing out for their detailed woodworking. Today, the Richard Glaesser company sells a variety of wood products including nutcrackers, smokers, music boxes, and arched candle holders; but the company is most well known for its Christmas Pyramids - spinning, multi-tiered carousels that use rising heat from candles to turn. This Richard Glaesser nutcracker, like many of the company’s nutcrackers, has bright colors and a friendly face, representing a fairytale-like German king, perfect for adding a touch of magic to any household during the holidays.
